At Palm Beach Chess, we provide structured, high-level chess instruction designed to develop both competitive skill and essential life skills such as discipline, critical thinking, focus, and resilience.

​Personalized Training Approach

Our individual lesson program is built around the unique goals and learning styles of each student. Rather than using a standardized training model, our instructors work collaboratively with students to create customized lesson plans tailored to their current strengths and competitive aspirations.​ In addition to instructional training, we also provide tournament preparation and competitive support designed to help students maintain strong psychological focus, confidence, and practical decision-making during competition.

Private instruction is available both:

• In-person for Florida-based students

• Online for students seeking remote training

 

Lesson Requests, please include:

• Student name and age

• Current school (if applicable)

• Current US Chess and/or FIDE rating

• Chess.com or Lichess username

• Length of time playing chess

• Tournament experience

• Short-term and long-term chess goals

• Preference for in-person or online lessons

 

Lesson Rates

Palm Beach Chess works with instructors from a variety of competitive and educational backgrounds to ensure the best possible coach-to-student match. Lesson rates range from $50–$150 per hour, depending on the instructor's credentials and experience.​

Do instructors travel to students’ homes for lessons? 

Palm Beach Chess conducts all in-person lessons in approved public locations. No exceptions are made to this policy.

​Do you offer lessons for children ages 4–6?

Palm Beach Chess receives a high volume of requests for young beginner instruction. For those students, we recommend our group instructional programs at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium.
